The United States of Kurdistan was established to strengthen unity and solidarity among the Kurdish people, based on the principles of democracy, justice, human rights, the rule of law, and peaceful cooperation.

On 24 July 2018, at the LE CHÂTEAU d'OUCHY building in Lausanne, Switzerland, the United States of Kurdistan declared its existence in order to announce to the world that the noble Kurdish people have the right to determine their own future in their historic homeland through democratic means and in accordance with international law, and to restore this right to the noble Kurdish people.

The United States of Kurdistan was established to represent the common aspirations of the Kurdish people, strengthen national unity, and realize these goals through peaceful and democratic means.

The founder and leader of the United States of Kurdistan, Hüseyin Baybaşin, has been imprisoned in the Netherlands since 1995 by order of the barbaric Turkish state. Although this has been done to prevent him from freely carrying out his political activities, Hüseyin Baybaşin nevertheless took the lead, together with many Kurdish patriots, in establishing the Government of the United States of Kurdistan.

Regardless of the current political circumstances, the United States of Kurdistan will continue its mission and will pursue its efforts toward the goal of a united Kurdistan through democratic, peaceful, and lawful means.

The United States of Kurdistan calls upon the Kurdish people, the international community, democratic institutions, and all those who defend human rights to follow its activities, contribute to dialogue, and support peaceful solutions based on justice, equality, and respect for fundamental rights.
